Eadgifu recited her title to land at Coolin g by charter dated 959 which names her father Sigelm and records tha t he was killed in battle [2]. King Eadred granted land in Berkshire t o "Aedgyfu regis mater" in 945 [3]. King Eadred granted land at Felpha m, Sussex to "Eadgifu famula dei matri mee" by charter dated 953 [4] . She appears to have supported her grandson Edgar against Eadwig in 9 57, the latter depriving her of her property.
