Her parentage is indicated by the 1130 Pipe Rol l which records "Adeliz uxor Rogi Big… tra patris sui de Belueder" i n Lincolnshire [2], which also indicates that Adelise succeeded her si ster Albreda in the Belvoir estates of their father. It is also indica ted by the charter dated 23 Apr [1430] under which her descendant “T homas dominus de Ros, de Hamelake, de Trussebout et de Beavoir” conf irmed the possessions of Belvoir priory, Lincolnshire made by "anteces sores nostros… Robertum de Toteneio, Willielmum de Toteneyo filium s uum, Agnetem de Toteneio filiam dicti Roberti de Toteneyo, Henricum d e Rya filium Huberto de Rya, Agnetem de Toteneyo, Willielmum de Albene io primum, Willielmum de Albeneio secundum, Willielmum de Albeneio ter tium, Willielmum de Albeneio quartum, Ywynum de Albeneyo, Heliam de Al beneyo et uxores eorundem, Isabellam filiam domini Willielmi de Albene io quæ fuit uxor domini de Ros, domini de Beauvoire et de Hamelake" [ 3], the connection between Robert de Tosny Lord of Belvoir, father o f Adelise, being established through the marriage of her daughter Ceci lia to William de Albini Brito. "Rogerius Bigot… et uxoris mee Adali cie" donated the church of Thetford to Cluny dated [1100] [4]. “Roge rus Bygot” founded Thetford Priory, with the advice of “…uxori s meæ Adeliciæ”, by undated charter dated to the reign of King Hen ry I [5].
