A connection is suggested by the fact tha t "…Robertus Corbet…" witnessed two charters which are dated to th e reign of Alexander I King of Scotland [1], maybe identified as Rober t [II] Corbet (shown below) of whom no trace has been found in Englan d after [1141/42] and who could have settled in Scotland. The questio n whether Sibyl Corbet, sister of Robert [II], was the mother of Sibyl , wife of Alexander I King of Scotland, is discussed in the document E NGLAND, KINGS 1066-1603. CORBET (-after [1071]). Orderic Vitalis reco rds "Guillelmum cognomento Pantulfum et Picodum atque Corbatum, filios que eius Rogerium et Rodbertum" as vassals of Roger de Montgommery i n Shropshire, dated to [1071] from the context [2].
