The Annalista Saxo names (in ord er) "Bennonis ducis, qui et Bernhardus et Liudigeri comitis et Machtil dis comitisse" as brothers and sister of "domna Suanehildis [filia] He rimanni ducis de Liuniburh", recording the names of Mechtild's two hus bands [1]. The ''Genealogica Arnulfi Comitis'' names "Mathildis, filia m principis Herimanni" as wife of "Balduinum [filius comitis Arnulfi]" , specifying that it was hoped that the couple would have many childre n [2]. This suggests that their marriage date may have been some year s earlier than 961 considering that the ''Genealogia'' was supposedl y compiled in [951/59], probably during the earlier part of this dat e range considering which children of Louis IV King of the West Frank s are named in the document [3]. The Chronicle of Alberic de Trois-Fon taines names "Mathildis comitissa Saxonie" as wife of "Godefridi Arden nensis" [4]. "Heinricus… Romanorum imperator augustus" confirmed th e rights and property of Kloster Mouzon donated by (among others) "du x Fredericus pro anima Ottonis… [et] Godefridus comes et coniux su a Mathildis pro anima sui fratris Adalberonis archiepiscopi" by charte r dated 1023 [5].
