He was invested in 990 as Comt e de Nevers by his father-in-law as a reward for services [1]. The ''A nnales Nivernenses'' record a battle in "991 Id Aug" between "Landricu m comitem" and "Archimbaldum" [2]. Seneschal of France. According t o a contemporary satirical poem, Comte Landry helped maintain the seco nd marriage of Robert II King of France to Berthe de Bourgogne [3]. "L andricus comes" donated property to the abbey of Flavigny by charter d ated 28 Jul 1002 subscribed by "Bodo filius eius, Landricus filius eiu s…" [4]. He rebelled against King Robert after the death of Henri Du ke of Burgundy in 1002, but a settlement was later reached and was con firmed by the betrothal of Landry's son Renaud to the king's daughter , whose dowry was the county of Auxerre [5]. "Landricus… comes" dona ted property to Cluny by charter dated to [1010] subscribed by "…Rai naldi eius filii…" [6]. The ''Miracula Sancti Bernardi'' names "Land rico… Nivernensium comite" and records his death "Gordone castro" [7 ]. The ''Annales Nivernenses'' record the death "1028 V Id Maii" of "L andricus comes" [8]. The necrology of Auxerre cathedral records the de ath 11 May of "Landricus comes" [9]. m ([989] [10]) MATHILDE de Mâco n [1] ES III 716. [2] ''Annales Nivernenses'' 991, MGH SS XIII, p. 9 0. Most othe r authors date the marriage to [995], but this is inconsistent with th e supposed date of 990 when Landry was invested as Comte de Nevers.
