Nota

http://fmg.ac/Projects/MedLands/MAINE.htm HUBERT de Beaumont (-5 De c before 1095). His parentage is confirmed by reading together the doc uments which confirm that Geoffroy was the son of "Roscelini vicecomit is" [1] and which name Geoffroy as "patruus" of "Hubertus vicecomes" [ 2]. "Hucberto filio Radulfi vicecomitis de Lusdo" withdrew his claim t o the church of Luché to Saint-Aubin d'Angers by charter dated to [10 62], signed by "Radulfus ipse, pater eius… et Fulco de Vindocino" [3 ]. "Hubertus filius Rodulfi vicecomitis" is listed in a charter date d 1065 as one of the sellers of property to Marmoutier [4]. "Radulfu s vicecomes" donated "la foire de Notre-Dame" to La Trinité de Vendô me by charter dated to after 1070, witnessed by "Goffridus de Chamilia co frater Berengarii… Tetbertus telonearius, Fulbertus teleonarius , Hubertus filius eius…" [5]. Although Hubert is named eighth in th e list of witnesses, it is likely that "filius eius" applies to the do nor not to the person whose name precedes Hubert´s in the list. If th is is correct, the donor was Vicomte Raoul [IV]. Vicomte du Maine. Vic omte de Beaumont. "Huberti vicecomitis, Gaufridi avunculi sui…" witn essed a charter dated to [1067/69] which records a donation by "Willel mus cognomento Osoenus" to Saint-Vincent du Mans [6]. "Hubertus viceco mes" donated "capellam… Sancti Floscelli martiris… in urbe Cenoman nica" to Saint-Vincent du Mans, for the souls of "uxoris Ermengardis e t filiorum suorum Radulfi, Huberti atque Guillelmi", by charter date d to [1080/95], recorded as being three days before "vicecomes in Angl iam terram" went, witnessed by "uxor eius Armengardis et filii eorum R adulfus, Hubertus atque Willelmus, Goffridus suus patruus…", and add ing that "post mortem patris in tempore quadragesimo… Radulfus cum m atre Ermingarde et fratre Huberto Cennomannis" confirmed the donatio n [7]. Orderic Vitalis records that he quarrelled with William I Kin g of England after 1083, abandoned his castles of Beaumont-le-Vicomt e and Fresnay-sur-Sarthe, and withdrew with his wife to the castle o f Sainte-Suzanne where he was besieged by the king "for three years" [ 8]. "Hucbertus… Cenomannensium vicecomes" confirmed the possession o f the chapel of Saint-Aubin at Lude by the abbey of Saint-Aubin d´Ang ers, with the consent of "Hermengardis vicecomitisse, Radulfi, Herbert i, Guillelmi, Dionisii", by charter dated to [1090] [9].
