http://fmg.ac/Projects/MedLands/FLANDERS,%20HAINAUT.htm [ENGUERRAND ( [760/80]-825). The ''Genealogia Comitum Flandriæ Bertiniana'', date d to the second decade of the 12th century, names "Ingelramnum" as so n of "Lidricus Harlebeccensis comes" [1]. Lambert's ''Genealogia Comit um Flandriæ'', also dated to the early 12th century, names "Ingelramn us comitem" as son of "Lidricus Harlebeccensis comes" [2]. The ''Chron ica Monasterii Sancti Bertini'' names "Ingelramnum, militem probum e t prudentem" as son of "miles… Liedricus" and his wife, noting tha t he succeeded his father in Flanders [3]. His wide birth date range s hown above is estimated by working backwards from the estimated birt h date range of his supposed grandson Count Baudouin I. The ''Cartulai re de Saint-Bertin'' records the death in 825 of "Engerranus Harlebeca nus etiam saltuarius", naming him second in its list of rulers of Flan ders (without the title count), although it does not specify that Lide ric was his father [4]. Stewart Baldwin, in his detailed analysis of t he alleged ancestors of Baudouin I Count of Flanders referred to in th e Introduction to the present document, suggests that there is confusi on between this Count Enguerrand and the Count Enguerrand who is name d in several different contemporary sources between 853 and 875 [5]. T he editor of the MGH ''Scriptores'' series suggests that the later ref erences "cannot be other than to the son of Lideric" [6]. However, thi s is impossible chronologically, assuming that the genealogy as set ou t in this document is correct. The only likely possibilities appear t o be either that the earlier Enguerrand did not exist at all or that t here were two individuals with the same name. m ---. The name and orig in of the wife of Enguerrand are unknown. [1] ''Genealogia Comitum Fl andriæ Bertiniana'', MGH SS IX, p. 305. [2] ''Lamberti Genealogia Co mitum Flandriæ'' 1, MGH SS IX, p. 309.
