The Annals of Tewkesbury record the marria ge “circa Purificationem beatæ Virginis” of “filia comitis Linc olniæ” and “Ricardo de Clare” [3]. The ''Annales Londonienses' ' record the marriage in 1238 of "Ricardum de Clare filium comitis Glo verniæ" and "Matildæ filiæ comitis Lincolniæ" [4]. The ''Chronic a de Fundatoribus et Fundatione'' of Tewkesbury Abbey records the marr iage of “Ricardus de Clare secundus filius et hæres… Gilberti e t Isabellæ” and “Matildem… filiam comitis Lincolniæ” [5].
