Bercharii'' name "Hilduin comte d´Arcis" as the son of "la comtesse … Hersende" [1]. Comte d´Arcis-sur-Aube. The Chronicle of Alberic d e Trois-Fontaines names "comes de Arceis et de Ramerut… Hilduinus" a s brother of "episcopi Manasse Trecensi", specifying that they were "d e genere, ut dicitur, Ganalonis" [2]. The reference to "Ganalo" has no t been deciphered. Seigneur de Ramerupt. The Chronicle of Alberic de T rois-Fontaines records in [992/93] that "Adzo [abbas… Dervensis mona sterii]" [Adzon abbé de Montiérender] died "in peregratione transmar ina", adding that he had taken with him "comitem Hilduinum de Arceis " [3].
