The Chronicle of Alberic de Trois-Fontaines name s "Aelidam et Hadewidem" as the two daughters of "Ebalus de Roceio " & his wife, specifying that "omnes comites de Roceio et de Arceis si ve de Ramerupt vel de Brena super Albam" descended from Adelaide [1] . The ''Genealogiæ Scriptoris Fusniacensis'' names "Adelidem et Hadev idem" as the two daughters of "Ebalus de Roceio " and his wife Beatrix , specifying that "secunda filia… soror… Hadevidis nupsit Helduin o comiti de Ramerut [2]. The ''Histoire de la restauration de l´Eglis e de Laon'' records the election of “domnum Bartholomeum Remensis ec clesiæ B. Mariæ canonicum et thesaurarium” as bishop of Laon and r ecites his ancestry: “Hilduinus...comes Rociensis avus eius” marri ed “Adeladem germanam domni Manassæ Remorum archiepiscopi” and na mes their children “Ebalum comitem de Roci et Andream comitem de Ram eruch patrem Eabli Cathaulensis episcopi septemque filias...” [3]. D u Chesne interprets this passage as meaning that the wife of Hilduin [ IV] was the daughter of Manassès “le Chauve” Vidame de Reims, wh o was the father of Archbishop Manassès who died in 1115 [4]. However , he has confused the two archbishops of Reims named Manassès: Hildui n´s wife was the half-sister of the one whose death is recorded in 10 85. Her birth date is estimated from her mother's estimated birth dat e and the fact that Adelaide herself gave birth to her youngest chil d in [1060].
