An anonymous continuation of the Chronicl e of Robert of Mont-Saint-Michel records (in order) "Comitissa Ebroice nsis… uxor Guillelmi Comitis de Clara, tertia… in manu Dei et domi ni Regis" as the three daughters left by "Guillelmus Comes Glocestriæ " when he died [1]. The ''Chronica de Fundatoribus et Fundatione'' o f Tewkesbury Abbey names “Mabiliam comiti de Evereis in Normannia nu ptam… Amiciam… Isabellam” as the three daughters of “comes Wil lielmus” and his wife, adding that Amice married “domino Richard o de Clare comiti de Hertford” [2]. Benedict of Peterborough record s "uxori comitis de Clara" as "Willelmus filius Roberti filii regis He nrici primi comes Gloucestriæ…filiam ipsius comitis" [3]. Robert o f Torigny records the death in 1173 of "Rogerius comes de Clara" and t he succession of "Ricardus filius eius", recording that the latter wa s married to "filiam Guillermi comitis Gloecestriæ" [4]. In another p assage, Robert of Torigny records the death in 1183 of "Guillermus com es Gloecestriæ" leaving three daughters as his heirs, of whom one (me ntioned second) was "uxor Guillermi comitis de Clara" [5]. The primar y source which confirms her name has not yet been identified. She wa s recognised as Ctss of Gloucester in her own right after [1210], foll owing the death of her nephew Amaury VI de Montfort Comte d’Evreux , although this was subject to the continuing rights of Amice's siste r Isabel who was also recognised as Ctss of Gloucester.
