"Dominus Vualcherius, Salinensis oppidi pre fectus, filius alterius" donated property to Romainmotier by undated c harter, dated to before 1057 [1]. "Vualcherius filius Vualcherii fili i Humberti" donated property to Romainmotier, with the consent of "uxo ri meæ Beatrici… et filius meus Humbertus, tunc parvulus", by chart er dated 1084 [2]. “Guichardus eiusdem ecclesiæ canonicus et archid iaconus” donated property inherited from “matris meæ Ermenburgæ. .. avus meus genitor eius Humbertus... Salinis”, and which “frate r meus Humbertus” later granted him, to Besançon Saint-Etienne by c harter dated 27 Dec 1087, the same charter recording that later “Gua lcherius avunculi eius Gualcherii filius”, anticipating his inherita nce from the donor, claimed the property from the church but that “G ualcherius et filii mei Humbertus et Hugo” confirmed the donation [3 ].
