http://fmg.ac/projects/medlands/lotharingian%20(lower)%20nobility.ht m [OTTO (-before 1016). The ''Gesta Abbatem Trudonensium'' names "Lut garde filia Hermegardis Namurcensis comitissæ" as wife of "Ottonis co mitis de Los" [1]. No other reference to this Comte Otto has been foun d. Otto and his wife are not shown in ''Europäische Stammtafeln'' [2] . From a chronological point of view, an additional generation betwee n Rudolf (967) and Giselbert ([1044/46]) would not be surprising. If O tto was the father of the sons shown below, he presumably died befor e 1016, the date of the charter in which they are named. According t o Mantelius, the father of Giselbert and Baldric [III] Bishop of Lièg e was "Ludovicus de Los Rudolfi comitis secundo genitus" (without citi ng the corresponding primary source) [3]. No trace of this person ha s been found in the primary sources so far consulted in the preparatio n of the present document. m ---. The name of Otto´s wife is not know n. The ''Gesta Abbatem Trudonensium'' names "Lutgarde filia Hermegardi s Namurcensis comitissæ" as wife of "Ottonis comitis de Los" and th e couple as parents of "Baldricus secundus" [4]. If this was correct , Otto´s wife was Liutgarde de Namur, daughter of Albert [I] Comte d e Namur & his wife Ermengardis of Lower Lotharingia [Carolingian]. How ever, it is chronological impossible for a daughter of Comte Albert [I ] (whose marriage is dated to 990) to have been the mother of Baldri c [III] Bishop of Liège (installed as bishop in 1008). Another variat ion is provided by the ''Vita Arnulfi'' which names "Lugerdam, Godam , Ermengardam" as the three sisters of "Albertus comes Namurcensis", a nd adds that Liutgarde was the mother of "Emmonem et Ottonem fratrem e ius", although without naming Liutgarde´s husband [5]. From a chronol ogical point of view, this version is more coherent but, if correct, L iutgarde´s husband would have been Giselbert not Otto.
