Her parentage and marriage are deduced from Skylitzes wh o names "bestarches Samuel Aluisianus Bulgarus, imperatoris uxoris fra ter" [Skylitzes, col. 407], although it is curious to note that she i s still referred to as "imperatoris uxoris" in a passage which refer s to events after her husband´s accession and second marriage and the refore after her death. It should be noted that an alternative interp retation is that the passage refers to the wife of Samuil. The date o f her marriage is estimated from the couple's son Konstantinos Diogene s leaving two known children when he was killed in battle in 1074. |
