Foulque I "le Roux" Comte d´Anjou names "Ing elgerio genitore meo…" in a charter dated to [929/30] [1]. There i s doubt whether the other references to Ingelger, which follow, accura tely reflect the historical reality of his life. The ''Gesta Consulu m Andegavorum'' names "Ingelgerius" as son of "Tertullus nobilem dux " and his wife [2]. The ''Gesta Consulum Andegavorum'' names "Ingelger ius… iuvenis filius Tortulfi" [3]. The ''Chronico Turonensi'' name s "Ingelgerius comes Andergavensis" as "nepos Hugonis Ducis Burgundiæ " [4]. Charles II "le Chauve" King of the West Franks gave him "a piec e of a fief in the castle of Landonense". He was installed as vicomt e of the city of Orléans by Louis II "le Bègue" King of the West Fra nks, and appointed as royal representative at Tours. The ''Historia Co mitum Andegavorum'' records that Louis II "le Bègue" King of the Wes t Franks, therefore dated to [877/79], granted "dimidium Andegavis com itatum" to "Ingelgerius" [5]. The ''Gesta Consulum Andegavorum'' recor ds that Ingelger died from "focositatem, phthisim et hydropisim" [6] .
