According to ''Europäische St ammtafeln'' [ES III 28], Gotina was the possible daughter of Rabold Gr af an der Amper. Graf Rabold has not been identified and the reasonin g behind this speculative origin is not known. It may be based on th e supposed onomastic connection between "Rabold" and "Ratold", the nam e first used in the Ebersberg family for Gotina's older son, both poss ibly derived from "Ratbold". The ''Chronico Eberspergensi Posteriore' ' names "Gottina" as wife of "Sighardus comes", specifying that she di ed a few days after her husband "in vigilia sancti Thome apostolic" an d was buried with her husband [''Chronico Eberspergensi Posteriore'' 8 , MGH SS XXV, p. 868]. The necrology of Ebersberg records the death "X III Kal Dec" of "Cotini com uxor Sigihardi" [''Notæ Necrologicæ Eber sbergenses'', Freising Necrologies, p. 77]. Graf Sieghard [II] & his w ife had two children.
