The primary source which confirms his p arentage has not yet been identified, although his name suggests tha t he was the son of Siegfried [I]. The ''Chronico Eberspergense'' name s "Sighardus" specifying that he was "consanguineus" of "Arnolfus cæs ar filius Karolomanni" [''Chronico Eberspergense'', MGH SS XX, p. 10] . The ''Chronico Eberspergensi Posteriore'' names "comes Sighardus" i n Bavaria specifying that he was "de genere regum [Karlomanni filii Lu dwici Regis]" [''Chronico Eberspergensi Posteriore'' 2, MGH SS XXV, p . 868]. "Arnolfus… rex" gave a chapel at Ebersberg to "comes noster |
