He is named only in Arabic sources such as Munir [Morris Bierb rier, in a private e-mail to the author dated 27 Aug 2006]. [Cedrenu s records that Emperor Romanos appointed "Pantherius Romani imperatori s cognatus" as "domesticum scholarum" after dismissing "Joannem…Curc unam", dated to [943/44] from the context [Cedrenus II, col. 51]. It i s not known whether "Pantherius" was Pantherios Skleros, although no o ther Pantherios has yet been identified in the primary sources.
