http://fmg.ac/Projects/MedLands/BAVARIAN%20NOBILITY.htm EKKEHARD vo n Scheyern, son of OTTO [I] Graf von Scheyern & his second wife Hazig a [Hadagunda] von Scheyern (-20 Jun ----, before 1088, bur Fischbachau , transferred 1127 to Scheyern). The ''Chronicon Schirense'' names (i n order) "Ottonem, Pernhardum et Ekkardum comites" as the three sons o f "comiti Ottoni de Schyren" and his wife Haziga [Chounradi, ''Chronic on Schirense'' 3, MGH SS XVII, p. 610]. Graf von Scheyern, Vogt von Fi schbachau und Weihenstephan. Vogt of Freising Cathedral. The necrolog y of Undensdorf records the death "XII Kal Jul" of "Ekkehardus com" an d his donation of property at "Ilhdorf" [''Necrologium Undensdorfense' ', Freising Necrologies, p. 172]. m RICHGARD of Carniola and Istria, d aughter of ULRICH I Marchese di Carniola e Istria & his wife Sophie o f Hungary ([1063/70]-). The ''Historia Welforum'' refers to the four d aughters of "Sophia ex duce Maginone", specifying that "terciam…duxi t dux Maravie, quartam quam Egenhardus comes de Scirin a quodam monate rio… in Ratispona abstulit" [''Historia Welforum Weingartensis'' 15 , MGH SS XXI, p. 463]. It is clear from many other sources that Sophi a and her second husband Magnus of Saxony only had two daughters, Wulf hild and Eilika. It is assumed therefore that the two other daughter s referred to were her children by her first marriage with Ulrich of I stria, although the primary source which corroborates this clearly ha s not so far been identified. While there appears to be some confusio n in this text, it does clarify that the daughter of Sophia of Hungar y married Graf Ekkehart not his brother Graf Otto, the latter being fa voured by Wegener [Wegener (1965/67), p. 248]. The primary source whic h names her has not so far been identified, although the necrology o f Undensdorf records the death "XII Kal Jun" of "Wichart coma" [''Necr ologium Undensdorfense'', Freising Necrologies, p. 172] which may refe r to Richgard. Graf Ekkehard & his wife had two children.
