None of the sources so far consult ed state explicitly that Heribert [II] and his sister Beatrix were th e children of Heribert [I] but this looks probable. Her birth date ran ge is estimated from her eldest daughter giving birth to her own firs t child in [915]. The ''Historia Francorum Senonensis'' records that " sororem Herberti" was the wife of "Robertus princeps" who rebelled aga inst Charles III "le Simple" King of the West Franks [1]. Guillaume o f Jumièges records that “Rodbertus dux” married “sororem Herber ti” by whom he had “Hugonem Magnum” [2]. The marriage may have b een arranged to confirm her father's reconciliation with Eudes King o f France, who was her husband's uncle [3]. Werner suggests [897] as th e date of the marriage, on the assumption that it followed the politic al reconciliation between Béatrix's father and Robert's uncle [4]. A s discussed in relation to Robert's first marriage in the document FRA NCE CAPETIAN KINGS, there is a possibility that Robert's first wife wa s still alive in 907, which would of course mean that Béatrix's marri age took place after that date.
