He is presumably the s ame Waltbert whose county is referred to in the charter dated 25 Apr 8 59 under which Ludwig II "der Deutsche" King of the East Franks donate d property "quas Folcheri fidelis noster actemus in beneficium tenui t in ducatu Uuestfalorum, coniacentes in pagis Grainga et Threcuuiti n ec non in comitatibus Burchardi, Uualtberti, et Albrici atque Letti" t o Kloster Herford [D LD 95, p. 137]. He and his wife founded Kloster W ildeshausen. "Ludowicus…rex" granted protection and privileges to Kl oster Wildeshausen founded by "Waldbrecht comes…suique filii Wicbert i" by charter dated 20 Oct [871] [D LD 142, p. 198]. m ALDBURG, daught er of ---.
