Note

Ufficiale negli Ulani, fu ferito all’assedio di Spira (1792). Conged atosi, fu a capo della rivoluzione antiveneta a Brescia (1797), genera le di Brigata per la Repubblica Cisalpina, operò nelle Marche (1798 ) e Valtellina, indi in Piemonte, sulle Alpi e in Savoia (1799). Fu p oi a capo della Legione Italica al San Bernardo e a Trento (1800) dov e venne creato generale di divisione sul campo. Deputato ai comizi d i Lione e poi alla Consulta Legislativa della Repubblica Italiana (180 2) sostenne a Milano il partito di Murat. Effettuò la campagna dell e Puglie (1803), Venezia (1805), Napoli (1806) ed infine quella diffic ilissima di Spagna (1808-1809: Matarò, Llobregat, Gerona). Fu governa tore militare di Barcellona e temutissimo dagli Spagnoli che lo chiama vano «el diablo del caballo bianco». Un processo e una gravissima m alattia lo tennero lontano dalle campagne militari fino al 1813, quand o lo troviamo al servizio di Gioacchino Murat re di Napoli, del qual e fu tenente generale (generale di corpo d’armata) e aiutante di cam po. Fu per Murat governatore della Toscana (1814) e delle Puglie (1815 ); partecipò quindi alla campagna muratiana per la indipendenza d’I talia. Dopo la caduta di Murat fu imprigionato per ragioni politiche d all’Austria per tre anni nella fortezza ungherese di Temesvàr e i n quella di Lubiana (1815-1818). Visse poi sempre a Montirone. Fu cont e dell’Impero Francese. Il 4 luglio 1817 risulta già sposato con l a C.ssa Eleonora Siméon (Atto negli Annali in Calvisano). Il 25 nov embre 1828 adottò le minorenni figlie della moglie, Elisa ed Eleonora -Gerolama. Il 20 dicembre 1828 ebbe sentenza favorevole nella vertenz a civile coi fratelli per il possesso di Montirone (Atti Annali Arch . Calvis.)
