Rodolfus Glaber records that "Rainaldus… L andrici comitis filius" married a daughter of King Robert [1]. The ''C hronici Hugonis Floriacensis'' names "Adelaidem… Rainaldi comitis Ni vernensis uxorem" as the daughter of King Robert and his wife Constanc e [2]. The ''Historia Nivernensium Comitum'' records that the wife o f "Renaldum" was "sorori Regis Roberti, filii Hugonis Capitonis" [3] . The ''Annales Vizeliacenses'' also specifies that Renaud's wife wa s the sister not daughter of King Robert II [4]. However, this is chro nologically unlikely given that King Robert and his known sisters wer e born in the 970s, more than twenty years before the earliest possibl e date of birth of Comte Renaud. Her marriage was agreed by her fathe r as part of his alliance with Landry Comte de Nevers after capturin g Auxerre, which the king gave to his daughter as dowry [5]. "Rainaldu s comes Nivernensis" donated property "Belmontis" to Cluny, for the so uls of "…uxoris mee Advise…" by charter dated to [1028/40] [6]. Sh e founded the abbeys of Crisenon and Issenon. m (1006, soon after 25 J an 1016) RENAUD de Nevers [1] Rodulfi Glabri, ''Historiarum'' IV.26 , p. 213.
