Her parentage and first marriage are indicated by th e charter dated to [915] under which Charles III “le Simple” Kin g of the West Franks donated the abbeys of Hastières and Saint-Rombau t to Liège Saint-Lambert, granting the enjoyment for life to "comes W indricus... uxoris eius... Cunegundis et unius filiorum ipsorum... nos tri nepotis Adelberonis" [1]. Her first and second marriages are confi rmed by the ''Vita Iohannis Gorziensis'' which names "episcopo… Adal berone" (her son by her first husband) and "vitrico… eius Richizone " (her second husband) [2]. Her parentage is confirmed more specifical ly because the mother of Siegfried Count of Luxembourg is named "Cynig und", daughter of "Irmindrud" daughter of Louis II "le Bègue" King o f the West Franks, in an 11th century genealogy which traces the ances try of Siegfried's daughter Empress Kunigunde [3]. The family relation ship between Count Siegfried and the descendants of Wigerich [III] i s confirmed by a reference in one of Gerbert's letters to Siegfried be ing patruus of the Wigerich's grandson Gozelo [4].
